Explained: Moderation Level Promotion in Pi Network

In Pi Network, the moderation level refers to the actions taken to manage the community and maintain a safe and respectful environment. It involves setting rules and guidelines for behavior, and users are encouraged to follow these standards.

Moderation usually includes:

• User Reporting: Users can report inappropriate behavior, scams, or any violations of community rules.
• Account Suspension: Accounts that break the rules may be temporarily or permanently suspended or banned.

In this blog, I will explain the different moderator promotion levels. By the end of this post, you will understand how you can progress from L0 to L4 and earn more tokens and rewards as you move up the levels.

First, open the Pi Browser and go to the Fireside Forum. Once you’re there, click on “My Token”. Right below that, you’ll see an option that says “You Become a Moderator” just tap on it to continue.

Next, click on “Moderation Dashboard“ to access the moderation tools and begin managing posts and comments.

Next, click on the “?” icon to open the Moderation Level System.

This will give you details about the different promotion levels and show you how to progress from L0 to L4.

Level 0

Then, click on L0 Actions You Can Perform. As an L0 moderator, you have the ability to report content for deletion. To move up to L1, you must score 9/10 on the moderation tasks.

Level 1

Next, tap on the L1 Section. At Level 1 (L1), you gain the ability to flag content for potential deletion. This action lets you take a more active role in moderating the platform, ensuring that any inappropriate or guideline-violating content is flagged for review.

• Correct Action: If your assessment is correct, you will earn +0.5 tokens.
• Incorrect Action: If your assessment is wrong, you will lose -2 tokens.

Tokens Required for Progressing to L2:

To advance to L2, you need to earn 50 tokens through moderation.

Level 2

At Level 2 (L2), you gain the ability to delete content.

• Correct Action: If your decision is accurate, you will earn 1 token (or 0.5 tokens for content that has already been flagged).
• Incorrect Action: Making an incorrect decision results in a penalty of -5 tokens (or -4.5 tokens for content that has already been flagged).

Tokens Required for Progressing to L3:

To move up to Level 3 (L3), you need to earn 100 tokens through moderation.

Level 3

At Level 3 (L3), you have the authority to delete or undelete content, and you are also responsible for overseeing the user appeals process.

• Correct Action: Making the correct decision earns you 1 token (or 0.5 tokens for content already flagged).
• Incorrect Action: Incorrect decisions result in a significant penalty of -20 tokens (or -19.5 tokens for content already flagged).

Appeals:

• Correctly addressing user appeals will earn you 5 tokens.
• Handling appeals incorrectly will lead to a penalty of -20 tokens.

Tokens Required for Progressing to L3:

To advance to Level 4 (L4), you need to earn 300 tokens through moderation.

Level 4

At Level 4 (L4), you have full authority to delete or undelete content and oversee the user appeals process.

• Correct Action: Making the correct decision earns you 1 token (or 0.5 tokens for content already flagged).
• Incorrect Action: Incorrect decisions result in a significant penalty of -40 tokens (or -39.5 tokens for content already flagged).

Appeals:

• Correctly addressing user appeals will earn you 20 tokens.
• Handling appeals incorrectly leads to a penalty of -100 tokens.

Review Period for Promotion

When you upgrade to the next level, your promotion won’t happen immediately. We want to make sure that all moderators meet our high standards, so we appreciate your patience during this process.

While your moderation balance may show that you’ve reached the next level, your promotion will only occur after the system reviews your work to ensure it meets the required standards.

This review process can take a few days, and during this time, you’ll continue moderating at your current level. Once the review is complete and your work meets our criteria, you’ll be promoted to the next level.
