Pi Network recently introduced an exciting new update called Moderator Appreciation Day. This special day will be celebrated every year on the first Friday of February, and this year, it falls on February 7th. The day is dedicated to thanking and recognizing the hard work of moderators who help keep the Pi Network community active and welcoming.
Since this update, many people have been curious about what moderators do and how they can become one.
In this blog, I’ll share a simple, step-by-step guide to help you understand everything about Pi Network moderators. By the end, you’ll know exactly what a moderator is and how to become one. If you’re interested in joining as a moderator, this blog will be super helpful for you!
First, open the Pi Browser on your device. Once it’s open, click on the Fireside Forum option.

Next, scroll down to the bottom and click on the My Tokens option.

Then tap on ‘Become a Moderator

After that, you’ll be taken to a new screen with a welcome message that says: “Welcome to the Moderation Tutorial.” This tutorial will help you learn how to moderate posts and comments on the Fireside Forum. Click next

After you click on “Next,” a new window will pop up with the message: “How Can I Become a Moderator?” To start, you’ll need to read the Community Guidelines. Once you’ve finished reading, you’ll be asked to complete the Moderation Tutorial, which will include answering a few questions. Click Next

After clicking “Next,” a new window will appear with the message: “Review the Community Guidelines.“ These guidelines are very important, so take your time to read them carefully, as they explain the rules for moderators. Once you’ve understood the rules, click “Agree” to continue to the next window.

A new window will pop up with the message: “Start the Tutorial!” When you’re ready, click to begin. To become an L0 moderator, you need to answer all the questions correctly. This level allows you to report public posts. Just click “Next” to start the tutorial.

The tutorial begins now. This part is very important if you want to become a moderator. You need to answer all five questions correctly to pass the test and become a moderator. The questions will be based on the Community Guidelines. If you don’t get the answers right the first time, don’t worry! Just re-read the guidelines carefully, and you’ll be able to pass the test on your next try.

After answering all five questions correctly and finishing the quiz, a congratulatory message will appear:
“Congratulations! You have become an L0 moderator.“ To move up to an L1 moderator, you need to report 10 posts correctly. As an L0 moderator, you’ll also earn tokens for your moderation work. Once you reach L1, you’ll have the ability to flag posts for possible deletion. If a post is successfully flagged, you’ll earn tokens as a reward.

Then, click on “Got it.” Congratulations, you are now officially a Pi Network moderator! Your role is to report posts that go against the Pi Network guidelines and earn free tokens for your moderation efforts.
Then, go to the Moderation Dashboard and click on “Ask Others on Chat”

You will be navigated to the Pi Network open chat platform, where all pioneers can chat and discuss various topics. If you come across any chat that you believe is against the Pi Network Community Guidelines, just report it for moderation.

By doing this, you are helping create a safer and better environment for all users, and your hard work will be recognized by the Pi Core Team.
I hope this blog post has been helpful to you. Feel free to leave a comment and share it with others!
